Robert G. Austin, 71, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at UMC in Jackson.
Visitation will be 2-5pm Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Services will be 10:30am Sunday, July 20 at Leavell Woods United Methodist Church, with a one hour visitation prior to service time at the church. Interment will follow at 12:30pm Sunday at Beauregard Cemetery in Wesson, MS.
Mr. Austin, a police officer, retired after 26 years of service with the Jackson Police Department. He was a member of Leavell Woods United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years Sandra Moorehead Austin of Raymond; sons Joey (Bonnie) Austin of Eagle River, Alaska and Andrew (Lydia) Austin of Harriman, TN; brother Ormand Austin of Washington, DC; sisters Glynda Chaney of Houston, TX and Jean (Jim) Bagley of Trophy Club, TX; grandchildren Anabelle, Max and Isaiah.
