Wesson, March 22 — A member of a pioneer Wesson family died in a Hospital at Meridian, when Mrs. Mollie Drane Barnes passed away. She was 81 years old.
Funeral services were held at Perkins Funeral home in Brookhaven Wednesday morning. Interment followed in the Beauregard cemetery with Rev. W. S. Cameron of Jackson officiating.
She was a member of Thompson’s Chapel Methodist Church. Mrs. Barnes was a granddaughter of the late Colonel J. M. Wesson, founder of the town of Wesson.
She is survived by two nieces, Mrs. O. A. Smith, Brookhaven, Mrs. Rea Anding, Hazelhurst and five great nieces, Mrs. H. E. Douglass, Mrs. C. N. Harrison, Misses Sybil and Allene Drane, Jackson, and Mrs. R. E. Anderson, Hazelhurst; two great nephews, J. B. Drane, Brookhaven, and C. H. Drane, Palestine, Texas.
