Gladys I. Roberts, 67, died Friday, Aug. 13, 2004, after a long illness. She was born June 6, 1937, to the late O.C. and Roxie Elizabeth Ford Sumrall. She was a longtime resident of Tupelo and a retired employee of Trace Inn after many years of service.
A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Monday in the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with the Rev. Jesse Betts officiating.
Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth LaVigne Patrick of Germantown, Tenn., and Janet LaVigne Spears of Tupelo; a sister, Elaine Progule of Texas; two brothers, W.C. Sumrall of Hattiesburg and Charles Sumrall of Texas; seven grandchildren, Brett Patrick and Kristen Rizzo of Laurel, Chad Patrick of Starkville, and April Spears, Risa Spears, Brandon Spears and Lake Spears, all of Tupelo; four great-grandchildren, Abbie Rizzo, Laikyn Rizzo, Shelby Patrick and Austin Whitehead.
