Mrs. Faye Wolson Shemper, 91, of Atlanta, GA passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at the William Bremen Jewish Home.
She was born in Queens, New York. At the age of two, she and her parents, Jacob and Bertha Wolson moved to Atlanta. Growing up there and finishing her education in 1938. Faye married Frank Shemper of Hattiesburg, MS. She resided there until 2005 when she returned to Atlanta.
Mrs. Shemper was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Edward Stephen Shemper; one sister, Ethel Moret Morgan.
She is survived by her son, Maurice Shemper and wife, Barbara and his sons, Jason Frank and wife Rhianna and Michael Scott Shemper; Faye's daughter, Evelyn Gail Planer and husband, Dr. Paul Planer and their sons, Frank Barry and Mark Stephen Planer and wife Sarah, and sister, Marlene Gelemter Bosser and her husband Abe.
Faye Shemper was active in charitable activities through Temple B'Nai Israel and especially at Forrest General Hospital where she was a volunteer for over 30 years. She was known for her hospitality and kindness to others.
Graveside Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at B'Nai Israel cemetery in Hattiesburg. Memorials may be made to Weinstein Hospice of Atlanta, 3150 Howell Mill Road Northwest, Atlanta, GA 30327-2108
