HATTIESBURG - Graveside services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Brooklyn Cemetery with military honors performed by the VFW Post 3036 Honor Guard for John W. Tingle, 82, of Hattiesburg, who died April 19, 2010, at Covington County Hospital.
Mr. Tingle retired from the newspaper industry as a pressman, served two years in the Coast Guard and enlisted in the Army. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include a son, Gary Tingle of Mobile, Ala.; a daughter, Karen Tingle of Mobile; two sisters, Pearl T. Christian of Hattiesburg and Maudie Hill of Wiggins; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Virgie Kirkland Tingle.
Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
