Greens Creek in Jefferson Davis County, Mississippi is a small rural Coastal Plain stream that’s important less for being “mighty” and more for being the kind of creek that quietly organizes a whole neighborhood—roads, churches, cemeteries, and family places tend to line up around it.

The East Fork of Greens Creek start in south Jeferson Davis County about a mile NW of the intersection of Carson-BunkerHill Rd and Greens Creek Road (GPS: 31.486057, -89.816315). About 2.5 miles further to the NW the West Fork of Greens Creek begins (GPS: 31.519785, -89.837447). Both forks travel southwest about 9 miles or so and run together in SW Jeff Davis County at Owen Cole Rd just north of Hathorn Rd.

The now formed Greens Creek continues to flow SW another mile or so when it takes a NW turn for about a mile and a half. Turning back SW it runs for a short distance and crosses into Lawrence County at GPS: 31.394094, -89.958919. Its life in Lawrence County is short lived lasting less then half a mile before emptying into the pearl River.
